An epic movie if ever there was one, Lawrence of Arabia stars Peter O'Toole as the charasmatic title character, a bored British officer who seek adventure in the desert during the First World War.Lawerence manages to convince his superiors to allow him to make his desert journey so that he can passibly assist in forming a coalition among fractious Arab tribes against their common enemy, the Turkish. Once there, Lawrence experiences success beyond his wildest imagination and is lionised for his vision and leadership. Clad in the flowing robes and headdress of an Arab leader, Lawrence has grand plans that rest in his palms as precariously as grains of sand.

The film's production was moved to spain, but ahooting was halted for three months because writer Robert Bolt had been jailed for participation in a nuclear disarmament demonstration.
